Do these 5 Things after Childbirth
Carrying a baby in your womb for 9 months is not just a walk in the park. It is a journey of many emotional, hormonal and physical hurdles. Once you give birth to your baby, there are certain things you should do or avoid in order to maintain your health. Here are 5 things you should do after delivering your baby:
REST: Delivering a baby is not easy and you most likely were not able to sleep much in the hospital. The first few weeks are very important after delivering your baby. You need to get as much rest as possible. Try and sleep or rest when your baby sleeps. This will help your reproductive tissues to recover properly.
DON’T CARRY HEAVY LOADS: Avoid lifting anything that’s heavier than your baby while you’re recovering. This is especially important if you’ve had a C-section delivery.
WASHING YOUR HANDS REGULARLY: This may seem intangible, but make sure you wash your hands often. Wash your hands after you visit the bathroom, after changing your baby’s diapers and before feeding your baby.
AVOID ANYTHING STRESSFUL: In the first week after giving birth to your baby, you should try and avoid stress as much as possible. If you live in a house with stairs, try to limit the number of trips you take up and down the stairs each day while you heal, especially if you had a C-section.
CONTINUE TAKING YOUR PREGNANCY SUPPLEMENT: If you took NATAL CARE or NATAL CARE PLUS OMEGA 3 during your pregnancy, you should continue taking it even after delivery. The vitamins and nutrients inside the supplements are not only important for maintaining a healthy pregnancy, they are also recommended for healing of your reproductive tissues and breast milk production.
